Uday Shankar, CEO of Star India and President, 21st Century Fox-Asia has been accused of sexual harassment by an anonymous complainant.
The complainant, in her complaint has stated that the sales team was clearly instructed by Mr. Shankar, to even accompany the clients to their hotel rooms and sleep with them if the business so demanded to achieve the targets.
She has further stated how she along with three female interns were exploited when they were forced to attend private parties of influential friends of the harasser where they were forced to drink, dance, exchange contact numbers and even sleep with them.
The Internal Complaints Committee of the organisation has contacted with the accuser through emails and has asked her to come forward and narrate her story either to such Committee or to their external advisor.
Standup Comedian accused of sexual harassment, Mumbai Police to investigate
Stand-up comedian Utsav Chakraborty, formerly associated with AIB (an online Standup Comedy platform) has been accused of sexual harassment by a Mumbai-based writer-comedian of sending sexually explicit messages to women, including minor girls. The lady shared several accounts of women who claimed to have received "unsolicited and inappropriate photographs" from Utsav. He has apologized for his behaviour on Twitter but has also denied sending explicit images to women. AIB went on to offer an apology and is said to have removed all videos featuring Utsav, pending an investigation. Responding to the tweets, the Mumbai Police has stated that they would look into the matter immediately.
Ex-JP Morgan employee alleges sexual harassment, Police disagrees
An ex-employee of JP Morgan has alleged sexual harassment for a year by three colleagues. She has further alleged that the HR had dismissed her complaint calling it an endeavour to be friendly.
In her complaint she has narrated how one of the harassers would pass lewd comments about the way she dressed, how she had been maintaining her body despite being a mother to a 14-month old child and sang double meaning songs while they were alone in the office floor.
He had once offered to come over to her place in the absence of her husband and would also touch her inappropriately.
She has also alleged that the police had refused to register her FIR. The police when contacted has confirmed that she had approached them but after conducting an inquiry, no evidence pertaining to the complaint could be found. The police has further stated she had been terminated for an alleged data leak and that it was her ploy to get back to the job. They further confirmed that they could not find any email which she said that she had written to the Management against the alleged harassment.
Sexual Harassment allegation against Senior Journalist by Actor
A 42 year old Tamil Nadu actor has come out with her sexual harassment story on a very popular social networking site. In her 8 minute video on the social networking site, she has narrated how a senior journalist tried to misbehave with her at her residence after her husband passed away under the pretext of helping her with a personal passport issue. She spoke about receiving vulgar messages over WhatsApp accompanied by threatening calls of spreading false rumours that she has killed her husband.
She has also exposed how the Police had refused to file the FIR and had merely penalised him by asking him to render community services.
The Police when approached and questioned about the non-filing of an FIR, stated that the case had been forwarded to the cyber-wing since the complaint involved mobile phone call records and the use of internet.
